More than 650,000 Canadians served in the First World War and more than 7 million served for Britain. Currently "On Active Service" features 19 soldiers who are linked to in the index on the left. The majority were members of the Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF) but soldiers from other forces can be identified by the abbreviation that appears after their name.
Click on a name to view a summary of that soldier. Some have links to additional pages containing timelines, photos, letters and stories. These links will appear under the heading "More information on this soldier:" in the upper left corner of summary page.
